Electrical energy is required to make many kinds of gadgets work for personal requirements. It is such frequently used commodity that common people stop wondering about its sources or ultimate positive and negative impacts on immediate environment besides studying about them in schools. Before starting on current renewable sources that help in generating electrical energy, it is important to know little history on traditional resources for providing this extremely dangerous yet necessary commodity or service.
In the past people used to utilize fossil fuels completely to generate it and meet constant needs of end users. Almost all the gadgets in both private and public sectors used to work on power supply generated from these non-renewable sources of energy. However scientists and environmentalists had conducted tests and provided substantial proofs that brought facts into light about the long term negative impacts on earth, human kind and ultimate depletion of these resources. Hence researches started to focus on renewable sources that are abundantly available in the nature and at the same time do not release harmful contaminants in various forms.
Scientists started to explore air, water and sun rays in an attempt to release energy in any form. Once it is captured, through different procedures it is converted to common usable form for final usage. Windmills, turbines and solar panels are great examples of scientific research. Now science is focusing on more complex sources such as nuclear energy for ultimate power consumption.
